TEASPOON AND THE LAKE

With DEDICATION and DEEP LISTENING guiding the way, it takes TIME to decide if it’s wise to act when a tool, method, modality or practice you’ve been personally served by INVITES you to pass it along in service to others.

It’s an ASK for sure. It can be a NEGOTIATION, yes. But when it’s a leg of your sacred PATH, it’s best not to decline.

So why not dive in head first at the first inclination? Why not go full throttle into the waters of sharing and leading and facilitating for others the moment you get the nudge or the idea?

Because facilitating experiences for others is SACRED business. And, culturally we are wired for EXPEDIENCY. These two factors don't HAVE to be at odds, but often are and rarely do they easily reconcile. It's just plan tricky. Successful navigation requires great attention and consistent AWARENESS.

Not to mention, we have tremendous ASSUMPTIVE TENDENCIES. We acquire just enough information to decide we KNOW what is wanting to happen and we go into action, thereby closing off the flow of incoming information / data / inspiration.

What if?

  • What if that first bit of data was the beginning of the picture and not nearly enough to decipher the full puzzle you’re meant to solve & serve?

  • What if you’re moving away from (thereby avoiding) the full depth of the personal healing and transformation necessary for you to carry the medicine forward for others?

  • What if you’ve headed off into what eventually amounts to a harrowing side loop off of the intended path?

You won’t know, if you don’t ask and then live the questions for a bit?

Who am I to speak to you
about these pitfalls?

I’ve fallen into them many times. I’ve made these mistakes. I’ve jumped in without enough of the pertinent details, and as a result I’ve needlessly sacrificed time, money, emotional resources and at times, even my sanity.

Of course there are gifts and medicine to be collected along ANY path, even those we’ve walked unnecessarily. However, as a Highly Sensitive Person with a sack full of challenges I already carry, to be IN SERVICE as my SOUL and sacred path specify, I must endeavor to “work smarter not harder” (to borrow an annoying yet potent platitude from my days in a corporate job).

The best way to paint the picture, is with a PICTURE.

Imagine this... after I take a teaspoon size drink from a pure refreshing lake, the inclination or inspiration strikes and I gather up a container of water to turn away from the lake and hand out sips to others. But I stop myself. I resist that urge and instead, I step into the lake. Eventually I wade in further, always checking in before plunging deeper to find and follow what is MINE to find and follow. When I’m still moving in up to my neck… I fully immerse. I drop down into the UNDERNEATH.

Here is where the real depth and truth of my relationship with the lake reveals itself.

Not digging the imagery? Here’s a straight forward directive.

SLOW DOWN. Step out of the societal swirl. ASK internal questions. Then walk with them for a bit. Be careful to stay with your own experience for longer than you might be inclined.

This is my way. It may not suit your tendencies or speak to your personal proclivities, but it’s worth a check-in.

On a personal note, after a long period of negotiation, deep listening and many years of personal immersion on different levels, I’m thrilled to be expanding further onto a SONIC PATH with my work. I’m incorporating more sacred sound healing methods into my 1-2-1 sessions and group offerings.

It’s been quite a ride so far, and I look forward to where the journey leads next. For now I’m immersed in the vibrations of the gongs, bowls, chimes, drums, bells and rattles PERSONALLY and PROFESSIONALLY.

Should you require or desire support for your process, I offer virtual and in-person SESSIONS
